In praise of hand-crafted shoes

In today's highly competitive global economy, few items remain as symbols of our inexplicable desire to acquire items of rare value, and admire the skilled hands that make them.  A very good example is a pair of hand-crafted shoes of the finest quality leather - sadly, a disappearing artform amidst a sea of large-scale products made with cheap labor and materials.

Yes, the skills and quality of materials are what distinguish a shoe made painstakingly by an expert hand who knows exactly what's needed to create a work of art.

To look closely at a well-made shoe is to admire its aesthetics and the high level of craftsmanship now becoming rarer still in this age.  To wear them gives the feeling of walking on something so exquisite and comfortable, knowing that your feet are cradled by a second skin, which not only protects, but also confirms your understanding of fine quality and good taste.

In our little shop on the Danforth, you will have the opportunity to discover and experience that same feeling when you try a few of our hand-made shoes from Italy under the Eliseo Staffiere label.  Sure, it is pure indulgence - but there's nothing more equally satisfying than when you walk on them.

Come in..this is your moment!
